I often favoured plastic or rubbery cutlery because it was fun and reminded me of parties. This spoon was a special giveaway. A free spoon that does things is a better spoon. In the top of an ice cream tub there was a spoon that would change colour depending on the temperature. it was small and had a decorative end. Colourful ice cream was wasted on me as I was quite fond of waiting for it to melt slightly and then I would whip it all into an ambiguous paste, making it harder for the spoon to impress me at close to room temperature.
