I would never be able to dance without seeing colors. They swirl around me like ribbons, the hues of them changing with every move I make. As long as I can remember, they've been there for me--keeping time with my steps and guiding my movements. Last night, it happened again. I was dancing in color when my body was enveloped by light. The only word that came to mind was ecstasy--pain and joy together. And then suddenly, I gasped for air as if drowning and awoke from a trance-like state. "What just happened?" a dancer asked me. How could I explain it to her? I just laughed instead.
