Botan Geisha, known as the 'Queen of Flowers', performs the Sword Dance (Katana Odori). Her name is symbol of nobility and feminine beauty.

When a girl becomes a maiko, an apprentice geisha, she takes a professional name (geime) to symbolize her new life. These names are flamboyant, describing their beauty, youth, or alluring clothes and perfume; they're vivid, comparing the bearer to flowers, jewels, and gold.

This illustration is part of my Collection 'Oriental Tales' , which pays homage to Geishas' beauty and skillfulness in traditional arts. I researched about their names, art practices, dances and culture to create this Collection. Thanks to my sister Sara and her friend Marta for modeling for me.

Materials: Pencil for line work and digitally painted.

BONUS ART * Special Airdrop for the bidders with Line Work.

This Collection pays homage to Geisha's beauty and skillfulness in traditional arts. I've always admired these enigmatic and elegant women as well as their artistic talents.

Japanese culture is very close to my heart and Geishas are a world-famous symbol that I want to represent here in my own style with a glimpse of their dances and stories.

Thanks to my sister Sara and her friend Marta for modeling for me.
