Waiting for Winter - "Treescapes" series

I was wandering in a foggy winter forest in the Lusatian Mountains when I suddenly noticed this branch with some still colourful leaves sticking out from an old beech tree. I tried several compositions, but this minimalistic scene won... I just love the colour contrast of the warm and cold tones and the way the branch breaks the repetitive pattern of the tree trunks in the background. It is one of my all-time fave and most successful photographs.
