convergence is the culmination of nearly a year of work on divergence and the divergence brand. running a brand, especially alone, and even without promises, is a difficult task. the divergence brand simply didn't need to grow after the initial release, and it was my art that was pushing it forward at all. in the meantime, it ran antithetical to its own thesis, removing the humanity of the human behind it.
convergence was released in a one-of-a-kind attention auction. each piece cost just .01eth to mint and was available until 24 hours passed without any mints. at the end of the auction, the companion physical piece "to be continued" was given to the final minter.
Convergence is a 2 part project: a physical auction and a generative collection.
In order to receive the 1/1 physical piece “to be continued”, you have to win the auction. That being said, I’m not asking for your money. I’m not asking for funding. I’m asking for attention.
Each “bid” towards the physical auction is actually just a low-priced (0.01 ETH) mint of the generative collection. Upon minting, a 24 hour clock is reset. If the clock ticks to 0, you win the physical piece.
To win the physical auction, you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars in ETH. You simply have to care. Once the auction closes, minting will cease, and the convergence will complete. The end of Divergence necessarily means that nobody cares anymore, but until then it will live on.
