CriptoPunks Generics

A small collection of unique characters with proof of ownership stored on the Polygon blockchain.

The project that inspired the modern CryptoArt movement. CryptoPunks are one of the first and most iconic examples of “Non-Fungible Tokens”

And CryptoPunks Generics came as an alternative form of this absolute success.

What is a CryptoPunk Generics ?

Generic CryptoPunks are 24x24 pixel art images generated by a Pixel Art app. They are mostly young punk looking people, but there are some rarer types mixed in with the punks, such as animals.

Generic CryptoPunks are a small collection of uniquely generated artwork. No two artworks are likely to be the same, and can be purchased by anyone who interacts with the Polygon blockchain.

Each artwork has its own profile page that displays its attributes, as well as its ownership/sale status.

History dos originais CryptoPunks

Larva Labs was founded in 2005 by programmers John Watkinson and Matt Hall. The two creative technologists launched the art project CryptoPunks in June 2017.

Originally, LarvaLabs offered 9,000 free CryptoPunks to anyone with an Ethereum wallet (the Ethereum blockchain has its own cryptocurrency called Ether or ETH), keeping the final 1,000 for themselves (the Dev Punks). It took a while for its popularity to catch on at first, but after Mashable published a story explaining the concept and what it meant, the 9,000 free Punks were snapped up within 24 hours.
