This poem is close to me as someone with self-declared trust issues. It is hard for me to open up (unless it's through poetry). So here is a sneak peak into my mind
I wanted to see the day, I sparkled with joy. From deep within, A silent tear of wow.
Silent and sorrowful, It rolled down those, Dead cheeks, Hoping something stopped them in their path.
Breaking the flow of that droplet, I saw, a hand so huge it covered my face, Rough and calloused, yet soft and nimble. It slid along with the tear into the length of my neck, Where it all stopped.
I stopped breathing, I stopped hoping. And now you see an empty shell of who I was before Will you, now fill me up? I asked you

Vulnerability 1.0 is a collection that takes after my own suffering and pain as I went through my mental health journey. It is representative of finding solace in words that found its expression in my poetry. As the name suggests, vulnerability is a state of being extremely open to criticism and judgment from anyone and anything. I personally believe that being vulnerable requires a tremendous amount of courage and I see this as the first step to encouraging more people to do the same.
