Capable of surviving the harshest desert conditions, Caperilla rely on the succulent plant growth on top of their heads to retain moisture and generate energy under the beating sun. They are fast and skittish, darting from rock to rock during the heat of the day when most other creatures sleep. They are mostly herbivorous, but they will attempt to kill any venomous snake they see on sight, consuming its venom glands in order to concentrate the chemicals in the spiny tips of their cranial growths.
