This is a tribute to Kazimir Malevich.

He created "Black Square" as a painting in 1915, but it first appeared in 1913 as part of a Futurist opera in Russia.

The painting was called "the zero point of painting."

If the reasons are not obvious, I choose Malevich as a subject, squared (doubled), exceeding the dimensions of a pictorial square in which an allusion to the original square, because I believe that NFTs and some art work done in that context present challenging questions about the nature of painting, art, digital content and philosophical work, and the limits of the artist as it confronts the machine that is tool and hindrance.

IMO hype-driven scarcity mindsets in post-industrial society create magnetic attraction to technology.

Humans see tech devices and algorithms as magical beings that deliver the bigger and the better.

I have depicted Malevich holding a square, which contains himself holding a black box.

It's 2-D, but you have to trust me, it's a box.
