This image combines elements from three different projects that I've been working on. The "mostly human" figure is based on a shaman painting I did a couple of months ago. It was heavily modified digitally using digital painting tools on an iPad Pro. The dragon is a variation of an illustration of "Draco Hortus" that appears in "A Field Guide to Dragons," which I self-published a couple of years ago, and the moon is taken from experiments I'm doing on visualizations of poetry and other writings.

I have been pleasantly surprised with what I have been learning by combining such images. This work is proof that digital tools should be an increasingly important part of my artistic explorations, because this image would simply not have been within my power to create any other way.
