I’ve always embraced the potential benefit of the ‘happy accident’ within my work. This session with David proved that sometimes a mistake or an unforeseen problem can make the shot. Over the years many innovative products in photography have come and, in some cases, sadly gone. None had more of an impact on me than the Polaroid back attachment for the 35mm camera as well as Polaroid’s genius invention, instant process film. It consisted of a roll of film and a chemical pack about twice the size of the film and a very clever dark housing to put it all in while it developed. Often hit and miss on so many levels but never dull with the final results. I think the picture above proves this. And yes we took a lot of polaroids and talked extensively about art, photography, and music. Photo ©David Levine all rights reserved.
