Alice - October 2021 - digital art (Clip Studio Paint, iPad Pro). Alice was created for BlackPool as a piece for an NFT charity auction in Lisbon. Its name comes from the alleged Phoenician name of the city of Lisbon: Alis Ubbo. This illustration is an homage to Alfons Mucha’s work and the Art Nouveau movement. And more precisely the Art Nouveau Revival movement that took place in the 60s and 70s psychedelic sphere. Artists like Wes Wilson or Bonnie McLean used silkscreen printing to create rock poster art for events that took place at the Fillmore West and Auditorium in San Francisco. Quickly, the goal was not to promote those concerts anymore (as they were sold out every week), but to give the attendants a merch so they could say: “I was there!”. octOpus followed their example and created this commemorative poster for the October 2021 Lisbon Convention, so you can say “I was there”, too! Alice is a unique piece, the first one from a series of muses from all over the world.
