Based on the Chinese folktale “The Legend of the White Snake” that has been passed since the Tang dynasty, Shavonne Wong reimagines the protagonist, Bai Suzhen, who has transformed herself from a white snake to a human in a contemporary context.
The folktale tells the story of forbidden love and also the endless struggle between good and evil.
