This is one of the photos I care about the most, and it allowed me to enter the Top 101 photographers in the International Landscape Photographer of the Year Award 2021
I had stopped a little above to admire the sunset, but both the weather conditions and the composition had not made me crazy. Once the sun went down, I put away all my gear, a few more minutes of contemplation and set off to get back to the car. Browband on the head, snowshoes, and away, down the slope. At one point I noticed these two houses, which I don't know why they had something of a Christmas feel to them. So I decided to wait there for the full moon to touch the mountain and the two houses. The silence of the snow enveloped everything, I looked at the sky, and breathed.
In the last two years due to the pandemic we have forgotten what it means to travel, to be free, to discover new places. Mental and anxiety problems have increased significantly in the population. I called this series of shots "Breathe" because, despite all the adverse situations in life, the problems, that feeling of weight on the chest and of the lump in one’s throat, while I was taking these photos I felt light as a feather, finally without thoughts. I tried to impress these emotions in my works, hoping to be able to convey this well-being to the viewer. Because there is no better feeling than sitting in front of a sunset, and Breathing. Just Breathe
