"This collection contains imagery from my time as a fashion magazine editorial photographer. During my time working editorially, I developed friendships and artistic relationships with many of the subjects I photographed. These images include both magazine editorial and also personal shoots, often using film to slow down the process and allow for deeper connection to the subject. Matt Licari (b. New York City)is an artist making photographs since 2003. Licari depicts close friends, family and street scenes in his native neighborhood of The Bronx. This combination of intimate portraiture and peripheral environs remains a cornerstone of his work today. Licari received his BFA in Photography from SUNY Purchase College and has worked in the image archives of the Richard Avedon Foundation and the Guggenheim Museum as a photo-lab technician.
