With more patents to his name (over 1,100) than Thomas Edison, Arthur Fischer came up with hundreds of ingenious inventions over his long and eventful life.  Born over 100 years ago, Fischer became fascinated with technology at an early age, worked as an aircraft mechanic, developed a synchronized photo flashbulb for Agfa, before striking out on his own.  He focused on plastic connectors for construction, home improvement, and bone surgery.  He invented the fischertechnik construction set in 1964. One of his later patents, from 1998, was for fischerTiP, edible creative and crafting materials, which inspired this image.
