It's my pleasure to introduce to you my first ever editions piece; Sands of Time

This piece features the remains of the SS Maheno. This once mighty ship served many purposes during it's life, including transporting casualties back and forth between Sydney and Melbourne during WWI.

In 1935, when the ship eventually became old and obsolete, it was sold to a Japanese shipbreaking company for scrap parts. The Maheno, however, got swept up in an unexpected storm on it's journey to Japan, and never arrived.

The Maheno was eventually found shipwrecked off the coast of Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world and one of Australia's most iconic locations, where it remains to this day

Almost 90 years later, this photo was taken on a rainy day in May, 2022.
