A driver and his passengers gaze out the window from the dry comfort of a minibus as a sudden rainstorm hits the streets of Mong Kok one evening in June of 2018. During heavy rain like this, even a Hong Kong minibus becomes a cozy haven as chaos reigns outside. It's for moments like this that I love shooting in the rain.
'Hong Kong The Neon City - Editions' is a collection of photographs I have taken during my time living in Hong Kong. When I arrived in 2013, I was immediately struck with culture shock. I had never seen a city quite like Hong Kong, and one of the first things I noticed were the gorgeous neon signs casting electric colours around every corner. There was something quite gripping about the visual aesthetics that Hong Kong provides so when I learned that the neon signs were being systematically removed, I was heartbroken. I made it my mission to take photos of these icons, and through this goal a love of photography was born.
