GOT was definitely missing a laidback Jamaican king and a brawling Jamaican queen. I personally resonated with the bluntly realistic, but also highly intuitive perspective of the "savages" or wildlings.

I had just gotten my own camera (I was previously borrowing cameras to shoot), and was determined to learn how to use it manually. An opportunity led me to live in St. Lucia for a short period of time, and the 1st thing I noticed was an abundance of banana fields. By the time my ride had reached my final destination from the airport, I'd decided I had to shoot something (anything) in a banana field. I shared my plan with the locals, and scouted locations while exploring nature. I found a banana field while walking through the hills (everybody in St. Lucia has a house on a hill), and convinced a friend to help me shoot.

Banana farming and export is something most Caribbean islands have utilized for both personal and national economy at some point in time. Unfortunately, big corporations have disrupted banana exports in the Caribbean. Seeing so many banana fields made me happy. For me, the banana field is a unifying factor in the Caribbean, and I decided it was the perfect backdrop for a Caribbean wildling to be "Caribbean Wildling". It was one fist up to the representation of The Caribbeans, as a symbol of prosperity, perseverance but also survival, and hard work.
