A picturesque morning at Alice Lake in the Sawtooth Mountains. Watching the peaks light up like a Christmas tree was warming to the soul.
Being outdoors has always felt like home. This realization really came to be when I was diagnosed with cancer in the winter of 2018. While the treatments sucked, being outside and looking forward to getting back to exploring truly helped me fight on. Since having my life briefly disrupted, I've found that the enjoyment of being in nature and my love of photography has taken new meaning since I finished six treatments and a month of radiation.
Each photo in this collection was taken since beating cancer and comes with the knowledge that it could have easily not happened. Each one bears the weight of my experience and the understanding that my life now is a gift that not every cancer patient gets to realize.
