This photo is one of those moments where you almost forget to click the shutter because you’re just in awe of how you could stumble upon such a great candid. I took around 14 exposures of this while standing on top of the car I had been in and managed to capture a moment of true humanity. Almost justifies waking up at 3 am to shoot before finding this at 8 am.
A series created based on my experience hiding my mental illness and drug addiction, the balloons represent the facade I carry with me everywhere I go. Making this series has been an awakening for me that being my true self as an artist is the only way to truly be successful in this space, and that the facade will just bring me down. This series inspired me to be me, even if that’s not always a smiley face
