The pale glow on the unlit part of a crescent moon is the light reflected from Earth. It’s called earthshine. I've been fascinated by the crescent moon for a long time. To me, it represents the beauty in minimalism. My passion project for the last 3 years has been to capture images of the crescent moon and its alignment with planets or features of the landscape. There are 4-5 days in a month when it is possible to capture the best images of the crescent moon. I've been going out on all those days each month for the last 3 years. A lot of time I get skunked by the weather. However the days when everything works in my favor is vey rewarding. I hope to eventually build this collection up to a 100 of my best crescent moon photographs.
