The colors here are what might be seen on the river behind the eye. The harvest is arcing warm light all around, horizon going to twilight, the blue of dark heavens finding its way to a mirroring state that may be an approximation of infinity for so long as it lasts, which is not very long.

I like the blur here. Easy on the eye. There is a story here, a longer exposition on the experience and subjective impact of finding these features in the layers of a single cloud form that held attributes of a triangle, suggestion of a bird.

The pieces in the PRODUCTS OF PROCESS: EXPLORING FORM IN LAYERS [2021-2022] series were created by layering dozens of duplicate images of naturally occurring forms or - in the case of several works - cultural artifacts in context of elements such as water and light.

The duplicated images were variably adjusted for the standard visual attributes available with iOS 15.3.1, alpha/opacity, and size.

Standard available filters were used in experimental and non-formulaic methods of emphasizing or de-emphasizing existing visual elements.

No additional visual content - such as lines, shadings, or images of forms other than those existing in the base images of clouds, or light on a wall - was added.

Relatedly, no visual content was removed through processes other than adjustment of standard measures such as exposure, brightness, contrast, etc.

Some measures will erase, add to, colorize, and otherwise alter general forms. That action is part of the analog-digital generative process, as I am facilitating the layering and adjustments of the images through digital means, and the generation of media products is not done by algorithm, AI, or other programming.

All adjustments are manual; All layers are hand-set.

This work is driven by a spirit of fervent curiosity and a sense of allowing for, working with, surrendering to the invitations the forms themselves offer in their ease or resistance to aligning.
