There is a very close bond between gypsies and their animals, I understood this better as I got to know them. This man always treated his horse like a child..

Black Sea Gypsies is my first documentary photography project, I spent a long time in this neighborhood in Samsun, the city where I live, and tried to talk about people's lives.

Black Sea Gypsies were brought to Turkey Black Sea from Greece in 1924. Likewise, my family came to the Black Sea from Greece. Since I have met the people living here for a long time, it was not very difficult for me to make a project with them. I have been working on this project since 2006. I also won a national geographic turkey award with a photo I took in this project.
