In Turkey, after introducing yourself as an Istanbulite to someone you just met, the second question will be probably "where are you from originally?". That's a usual question for all Istanbulites. Istanbul has received and continues to receive great domestic migration over the last sixty - seventy years. That's the reason.

These two men that I saw in a mosque courtyard make me think of this reality and problem of Istanbul somehow.

When I think of Istanbul collection image

Istanbul is a unique and inspirational city for many artists, writers and photographers. Ara Guler, Bruno Barbey, Nikos Economopoulos, Alex Webb, and many other photographers.

This city that connects two continents is a love-hate paradox for most Istanbulites. For me, it's part of my soul. I've been living far from Istanbul for the last few years. It's not possible to share all of the photos and memories but these are when I think of Istanbul to come to my mind.
