Moon Mind - #3 in Oli Goldsmith's 2022 series: Virtual Totem Sculptures A Collection of 1/1 original 3d / Augmented Reality Artworks. Extrapolating from my SKUs series of original SKULL artworks and bringing them into 3d. A raw and often hand-drawn aesthetic is purposefully integrated into the feel of the series as a counterpoint to the 'super-clean' look common in many 3d works. As always I like to bridge the organic and digital.
This series of 100 variations on human skulls - each an original 1/1 NFT - is titled SKUs as a playful reference to 'Stock Keeping Units' - the common bar code system used for product & inventory tracking.
The works explore themes of identity and death - and how an honest reflection on such can bring about a creative and playful embrace of LIFE. Essentially 'Memento Mori' combined with Goldsmith's idiosyncratic visual vocabulary and style.
