A night I will never forget, my first time truly experiencing the northern lights. I almost didn't go out this night, laying in my warm bed ready to drift off into sleep when my good friend messaged me saying we need to go and take a chance, the aurora data is looking great.

It wasn't easy to talk myself out of my warm bed and into the cold truck, but I got out of bed and drove the 3 hours to one of the most iconic views in the Canadian Rockies. It was the first time I had been to this place and as soon as I got to the top the sky was dancing overhead, putting on the most magnificent show I have ever seen.

Since I had never been there before I had to scramble to find a composition and get my settings right so I didn't miss the shot. This image is the result of taking a chance and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
