During the winter months, I wander throughout the Southwest Arizona deserts, rockhounding and buying rare stones from miners throughout the US. Having grown up in the South surrounded by lush green plants and moisture, I'm always entranced by the plant life in such a harsh environment as the Southwest deserts. This cactus is no exception, the greens are just stunning!

It's an odd hobby, but playing with rocks brings me such peace that I've turned it into a quasi-profession and art form. Lapidary artist and crystal dealer are my odd little side hustles and eventual "retirement" plan. For those of you who know me on Discord, this is where "DesertRat" comes from. Spending time in the desert reminds of just how transient our time on this planet can be and to witness Mother Nature in such a humbling and raw state always puts my place on this plane of existence into perspective.
