We are all pengus. And I think it’s time we all looked within ourselves for answers and leadership, especially the Pudgy Penguins.

Turns out my gut instincts about Pudgy Penguins were correct as I had created an earlier Pengus Cryptostella back in September 2021, titled Kill All Pengus.

On December 12, 2021:

“Pudgy Penguins NFT collection is in muddy waters after their previous Discord Moderator took to Twitter to talk about the founders’ alleged “unprofessional” behaviour. According to Darth, a.k.a coldpizza.eth, the Pudgy Penguins team “randomly promoted” Darth to a Community Manager. The promotion, however, came without the two agreeing to any “new terms”. 

“Last night I decided to leave the team after seeing how unprofessional the founders handled my situation,” Darth tweeted on December 11. And then more recently we learned the Cole, co-founder of Pudgy Penguins is really the scumbag that I suspected he was.

“In their tweet storm, 9x9x9 was particularly critical of Villemain, the project’s best-known figure. Villemain posts as COLΞ and uses the URL @ColeThereum on Twitter, where he has over 115,000 followers. In addition to the suggestion that Villemain and his co-founders had emptied the project’s treasury, they alleged that Villemain had offered to sell a 20% stake in the project for 4,000 ETH, around $12.9 million at press time. In the tweet storm, 9x9x9 alleged that the team had reduced their sale offer to 888 ETH after they rejected the offer, before noting that the community had proposed removing Villemain from the team. “Cole is the reflection of the lack of trust and transparency between the founders and community of the project.
