Tiny orbs run down a stranger’s Fosters can, carving their unique and erratic paths. Like stretch marks. A marker-pen scrawl on the rough concrete of the Harbour Arm announced our location as “Margate”. Sun directly overhead. Eyes now creases. Beach-ball bellies. Pink skin cooking – like underdone chicken.
Then, a tattooed arm outstretched. A bold statement of British pride. In weeks, Churchill would make the news when his statue was graffitied in London during BLM protests. Divided sentiment in a divided town.

This image comes from the project, Don't Push Me 'Cause I'm Close to the Edge, documenting happenstance encounters in and around the British coast. The project began in earnest during the COVID-19 pandemic, when travel was off limits.
This curated collection is capped at 100 pieces, released over time, at which point, it will be made into a photo book. This image is part of the first "drop" that includes images taken during the 2020–21 pandemic itself.
