This is an art I made based on a photo I took when I visited Matera, Italy. Matera is full of history, and I must say that walking in Matera at night is really pleasant and relaxing. The colors of the sky, the colors of the lights in the city and all its ancient buildings, and canyons makes us to travel to the past. It is a truly "live postcard". This was my favorite photo I took from Matera, but I must say that all the others were equally beautiful.

The original settlement of Matera lies in two canyons carved by the Gravina River. This area, the Sassi di Matera, is a complex of cave dwellings carved into the ancient river canyon. Over the course of its history, Matera has been occupied by Greeks, Romans, Longobards, Byzantines, Saracens, Swabians, Angevins, Aragonese, and Bourbons.
