"Since becoming a dad earlier this year, I've had this burning desire to reignite my childhood curiosities and bring my 'When I grow up' dreams to life".
Daydreaming is what I do best. As an artist, drifting off into my imagination is the most important skill I can master. Switching off completely, ignoring the outside world and escaping to a universe you've built in your head is no easy task when there's the realities of life to contend with. It's a form of meditation, and one that I like to feel I haven't necessarily mastered, but I am learning to tame a little bit more each time I create. Since becoming a dad earlier this year, I've had this burning desire to reignite all those childhood curiosities and bring my "When I grow up" dreams to life.
After a few of my daydreaming sessions and hours of doodling in my sketchbook, I finally came up with a character I wanted to bring to life. Inspired by my passion for collectible toy culture and my love for the timeless and loveable characters created by Disney and Pixar, I created REMO. A cute alien character on a mission to help me share my out of this world creations.
REMO embodies my childhood curiosities of outer space, the weird and wonderful, and answers all those questions that get more silly the older you get.
