Small sticky notes have become an indispensable stationery item. But most of all, the stickers attract attention with their yellow color, so bright that they can be compared to a canary. These sticky sheets stick perfectly to computers, magazines, and the refrigerator. They are used for making shopping lists, for bookmarks, for sending short messages.
According to legend, the history of stickers begins in the late 1960s with a man named Art Fry, who was a chemist at the American company 3M, or Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. In his spare time, he sang in the church choir. Fry was always annoyed because his bookmarks fell out of the music books again and again. But stationery in those days was not as abundant as it is today. Then he remembered his colleague Spencer Silver, who was trying to develop a new superglue.
