The artwork Don Quixote’s Metamorphosis Februay 11 1955 was examined using microscopy with direct and transmitted light on both the front and back sides.

The microscopic characteristics of the ink and background shows variations in the edges of the image, the variations of the thickness of the ink in the areas of the background, the ink absorbing into the medium at different amounts based on thickness.

Chemical testing was not conclusive to the type of ink used to create the artwork, however the limited chemical extraction that was observed is consistent with an India type ink.

The background did not contain any evidence that was useful to determine the first date of production.

Conclusion of Speckin Based on the testing conducted and the results of those tests it is Speckins that the artwork submitted for examination was created by hand and is not a massed produced printing process. Further no evidence was noticed to indicate that the piece was created at any time other than the purported date.

Speckin proves that not only is the work not a reproduction but the ink is indeed an India ink. That the work has bleeding and that the date is February 11 1955 which contradicts anyone that states the work is a reproduction of any work inclusive of the August 10 drawing and any of its subsequent engraved copies or posters.
