Cryptorama Faces N°A13. Digital drawings topped with optical filters and plexiglass. Polyptych, 150 x 40 cm.
CRYPTORAMA FACES is a suite of portrait drawings of famous and anonymous people, some of whose faces are masked by ornaments in the form of a human profile.
This collection was inspired by the INTERFACES installation presented at the BIENNALE D’ISSY LES MOULINEAUX, PARIS, FRANCE. The theme of the exhibition was: Portrait, Selfie of the Soul.
What is the deep meaning of the portrait in a world where we tend to increase the number of selfies? What becomes of the portrait on the contemporary NFT scene and what do the artists want to express? More and more we hide behind our masks what is inside...
"Should we paint what is on a face or what is hidden behind a face?" Picasso
