Looking at this photograph I get the feeling that this is a car boobytrapped with a bomb. The place seems deserted (except for the few men in the back) and there’s already rubble everywhere, like something bad happened already, maybe a war scene.
In reality this is in my hometown Geraardsbergen and it was taken after the weekly market had ended, hence the rubbish. The marketplace itself hasn’t changed that much over the years.

A rare 1/1 collection of B&W photos from accidents in the 60ies and 70ies. My grandfather was a 'collision' expert in Belgium during this period and documented about 4000 accidents. All photos were taken on actual accident scenes. 15% of all purchases will help fund organizations supporting families of accident victims.
