The Chust doppi is perhaps the most popular piece of traditional Uzbek attire, presented in a dichromic black and white palette. The Chust doppi is inclusive; everyone in Uzbekistan is welcome to wear this skullcap irrespective of status, gender,age, ethnicity, or belief. Aqsaqals are wise men whose societal role is to advise, resolve conflicts, and bless younger generations. The image of an aqsaqalis inseparable from that of the Chust doppi. Consequently, the authors associate this skullcap with good deeds and a wealth of wisdom.
