Amun-Ra was the chief of the kemetic pharaohs. In the early days of the Kemetic civilization, his name means the hidden light (Amun /Amen/ Amon ) meaning the hidden and Raa means the light His name is generally translated as “the hidden one” or “the secret one” This duality Amun-Raa means (the hidden god and the visible sun) The two gods were combined into one,in the time of the New Kingdom, between the 16th and 11th centuries BCE. Amun was associated with a number of animals, whose form he sometimes took in inscriptions. Originally, he was depicted as a goose and given the epithet the “Great Cackler” he was most frequently depicted as a Ram, a symbol of fertility. He is also depicted as a man with the head of a ram To this day his NAME is recited at the end of prayers in Jewish, Christian and Islamic Religions.
