In this piece, I see Atlantis

Our obsession with perfection often leads us to the most imperfect places…. Though Atlantis is often conceived as a perfect peaceful utopia, The Atlantis that plato described in his fable was very different. In his book ‘Encyclopaedia of Dubious Archeology’, Professor Ken Feder notes that in Plato’s story, “Atlantis is not a place to be honoured or emulated at all. Atlantis is not a perfect society…Quite the contrary, Atlantis is the embodiment of a materially wealthy, technologically advanced and militarily powerful nation that has become corrupted by its wealth, sophistication and might.”

 These images have emerged from my photographic explorations of water reflections that I captured around the globe sometimes in extreme weather over many years. A collaboration with Mother Nature itself. As a measure of healing, I was chasing the moment that changed my life forever after a particularly traumatic experience. What's more ephemeral than a water reflection? Ever changing with the light and the wind; the vistas and the stories seen in these scenarios are open to your imagination as they have enriched mine.
