A surreal rococo empire, "1700 B.C (X.C.X)" is Serwah Attafuah's visual interpretation of "XCX World" - the previously leaked and subsequently unreleased 2017 studio album by Charli XCX. This piece is Serwah and Charli's celebration of the LGBTQIA community, sex work pride and it's historical flare . Large ornamental sculptures , chrome buildings and 1700 inspired imagery reinvent these narratives in its past, present and future.
"I’m so excited to be collaborating on this special pride digital artwork with Serwah Attafuah and I’m so happy to raise funds for GLAAD. I wanted to explore what the idea of a reimagined version of an xcx world landscape might look like in the 1700's. It’s 100% super cute and freaky. The lgbtq+ community have always been so inspiring and supportive of me and my art. I am so proud to be able to be involved in this project" - Charli XCX
Serwah Attafuah is a 3D artist and musician based in West Sydney, Australia. She creates surreal cyber wastelands, and afro-futuristic reflections of self with strong ancestral themes. Serwah's work has been commissioned by clients including Nike, GQ, Adobe, Warner Music, Bhad Bhabie and YSL Records.
