Aotearoa...the name given by the original settlers of New Zealand Maori...in which one of its translations means “The long white cloud.” It is thought that early Polynesian navigators used these long white clouds to help find Aotearoa.

Lake Wanaka in the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand is the fourth largest lake and was carved out by ancient glaciers during the ice age. The mountains that remain here are incredible and on this particular day, a long white cloud followed them almost the entire length of this arm of the lake.

I couldn’t help but take a photo of such a beautiful and iconic scene and to this day I’ve never seen the long white cloud appear here again.

This NFT is part of Reflections by Concurrence Collective – a fine art landscape photography collection dedicated to reflections found in nature. With this collection, we have returned with our shared passion for capturing the natural beauty of the world. Reflections follows on from our debut project Frozen Planet, the first-ever photography collective on Sloika.

Reflections is our second collection and follows on from our debut, Frozen Planet – the first-ever photography collective project released on Sloika.

When Frozen Planet sold out within a few hours, we thought about what we could do differently. We all agreed we wanted to go bigger! We reached out to the landscape photography community with an open call to submit work then followed up with a lengthy curation process. We are excited to be able to bring more artists into the collective – growing from 24 to 30.

30 artists. 30 pieces. 0.3 ETH each.
