"Contact" has always made me think “alien invasion’. The terrain itself is out of this world but my mind and imagination envision three space travelers standing by their ship, ready to embark on a new land. The unique colors and patterns give it a whimsical unearthly feel in its abstraction.
In the Land of Dreams, anything is possible. What do you think these travelers will find?
“Land of Dreams” is a series of images aiming to transport the viewer to a magical land of make believe. I set out to create this collection after my first visit to this incredible location & seeing the unique colors of the terrain and feeling like I was on another planet. I wanted the images to feel as unreal to the viewer as it felt to me.
I returned on 3 separate occasions, hiking solo up the steep cinder cone in the dark in order to have the appropriate light for what I needed. On each occasion I had the unique pleasure of complete solitude while I worked. With the unusual aesthetic & the lengths it took to capture & create it, this is truly my favorite body of work so far.
The location is not disclosed because in the ‘Land of Dreams” the where is irrelevant.
