"Mȳrtus" is the name of flowering plants which symbolize silence, peace and pleasure. In ancient times, Myrtus was an attribute of the goddess Venus and her three maids — the Three Graces. During the Renaissance, evergreen Myrtus began to symbolize eternal love.
