Anne Bengard is a Berlin based visual artist specializing in figurative realism and portraiture. Influenced by both manga art and old master paintings, her style often consists of a saturated, high contrast colour palettes and visual language which explore themes around intimacy, connection and fetishisation. Working in London’s colorful and extravagant fetish club scene since her late teens, fetish club etiquette formed her ethos, emphasizing the importance of consent and respect. This is the basis on which her work is formed. After working primarily in water colors for many years, she shifted her focus to murals and urban art as well as oil painting and graphite drawings. In 2013 Anne decided to leave London and train as a free diver in Thailand before relocating to Berlin in 2014 to dedicate more time to her painting practice.
