Bomb Story: I'm not sure why we never printed Plaidam, but that might be exactly why. Almost every design under The Hundreds goes to market with a story. If it doesn't have a reason, like Plaidam, then it doesn't make the final cut. After all, just because something looks cool doesn't mean it adds to the overall brand. At the time, a plaid Adam Bomb did not find a home in our seasonal story and epitomized a ""just because"" design. When we elevated to making cut-n-sew apparel like button-ups in the early 2000s, plaids made their way into our language as a nod to both the surf culture of the West Coast and Polo's influence on the East. In fact, every plaid speaks to a different subculture. Buffalo plaids were woven into the early New York hip-hop lumberjacks. Shadow plaids on swap meet Pendletons. And The Hundreds plaids, for all.
