David Datuna's "Hungry Artist" run backward. [1/1]
This is my second piece critical of Big Gallery (the first was BI®D-IN-HÅND™). Here, the quote "mundane" comes from Emmanuel Perrotin, owner of the Perrotin art gallery that sold "Comedian" by artist Maurizio Cattelan.
Mr. Perrotin said of Mr. Datuna's performance art: "this kind of provocation is not new. If you remember, Duchamp's Fountain was famously pissed in almost a dozen times. If anything, it's quite mundane."

Judging by the 50+ art patrons in attendance with their phones out, Mr. Datuna's piece was extraordinary. The gallery was clearly wrong & out of touch. After "Comedian" was consumed, the gallery displayed a replacement banana, explaining that it owned "the idea," also clearly wrong.
