📍Pisac, Peru

Písac is a Peruvian town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is situated on the Vilcanota River. Pisac is most known for its Incan ruins and large market which attracts heavy tourist traffic from nearby Cusco. The climate in the region is semiarid.

The artwork shows a stylized photo of two wind pumps. These technology was already invented in the 9th century and is used for pumping water for irrigation purposes. In rural areas around Latin America, it is quite common to encounter this old type of wind mills while in industrial countries, large-scale megawatt turbines characterize the energy landscape.
