December 2019 we had our eyes glued to the news, watching the world succumb to the effects of COVID-19 as it rapidly took over. A few months later my mates and I would be on our flight to Sapporo not knowing if we would wind up stuck in Japan or if we were going to catch the deadly virus. March 2020 rolled around and just like that we were on our way with masks at the ready! That night we were the only flight to arrive into Sapporo airport.

I remember that first night... walking the city, camera in hand, documenting the total feeling of isolation that had swept over us. State of Isolation is a 12 piece collection showcasing Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido during a declared State of Emergency.
