This is one of the first paintings I ever made. When I presented the entry academy exam I was asked to make something related to violence in Colombia. I made a drawing similar to this on in black and white and after some months I wanted to recreate that image with oil painting. It's the only painting that's left from that time around 2005. Some works were stolen, I gave some as gifts and some were destroyed to make a new one over. I found this one after many years and it made me happy to see it again and remember the beginnings.
Hybrid Paintings are the interaction between the analog and the digital universes. Each image comes from a real oil painting or drawing. Afterwards this image will be photographed and modified digitally with code, photoshop, after effects or other digital methods which generate many variations of the original physical work. Some of the digitally generated images will be painted again with an analog method. Both digital and physical works are available for you to collect. You decide if you want to destroy the phisical work which is the origin for each piece.
