We end Waves at the very beginning. Humanity celebrates cave paintings for their historical significance but are they celebrated enough for their significance to art? I’m not convinced. Regarding these painters, I know nothing about their lives, have seen none of their faces or heard their viewpoints, yet they are the ones I most admire. Why?

Because many were painting purely for creativity’s sake, deep in dark caves that few others would see. They embody both the origins and very essence of human creativity. Is all drawing and painting throughout history not in their debt, in some way or another?

As a nod to my own debt, this painting features the tracings of two overlaid cave paintings from Chauvet Cave in modern-day France, and the buyer will receive unlockable images that reveal the full process.
